Group/Family portraits are always tricky. You see so many pictures where, people are standing together in one row, and they are smiling and all, but the connect is somehow missing. In family portraits, it is important to ensure that the viewers' eye move a little around the image. It is strange how well, people take instructions from a photographer! :-)
